Jeffrey Jones CFP®
Jeff founded Cypress Financial Planning because he had a strong desire to help individuals and families accomplish their life goals. Driven by his passion to help people understand and benefit from the financial markets, he serves as both educator and advisor. As a Certified Financial Planner, Jeff adheres to the highest ethical and financial proficiency standards in the industry.
Prior to Cypress, he worked in the Private Wealth Management Division of Goldman Sachs in Philadelphia, performing analysis and making investment recommendations for families and foundations with over $1 billion in total assets. Prior to this, he worked as an engineer at Lockheed Martin in Moorestown, NJ. Jeff has a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Duke University and a Master’s Degree in Financial Engineering from Princeton University. He currently resides in Moorestown, NJ with his wife Lauren and children Jeremy and Gwen.
In addition to advising individuals and families at Cypress, Jeff actively volunteers as a math tutor at Urban Promise Ministries in Camden. He is also involved in Habitat for Humanity and has recently completed weeklong home construction builds in Guatemala and El Salvador.

Ben joined Cypress Financial Planning to further extend the organization’s unique capabilities to new clients. Ben was drawn to Cypress because of the firm’s passionate commitment to the highly analytical, thoughtful financial and investment planning and advice its people strive to consistently deliver.
Prior to Cypress, Ben received an MBA Fellowship from Goldman Sachs while studying at the University of Virginia. Ben continued as a wealth advisor at Goldman Sachs to wealthy families and foundations until joining Cypress in 2012. His professional background includes business development and consulting roles with Fortune 500 companies including Eli Lilly & Company and Caesar’s Entertainment. Ben attended the United States Military Academy at West Point, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in General Management with a concentration in Nuclear Engineering. Ben resides in Williamstown, NJ with his wife Leslie-Ann and daughters Faith and Grace.
In addition to his focus on family and Cypress, Ben seeks to devote time to the community. He enjoys providing informal life and professional mentorship to many young professionals. Traveling to Afghanistan with Samaritan’s Purse to work closely with a group of international expatriates and Afghan nationals for the summer of 2007 was one of Ben’s most impactful and enjoyable life experiences.

Evan Powers CFP®
Evan joined Cypress to help the organization expand the firm’s presence outside of the home office to Charlottesville, Virginia. Having spent the majority of his career as an active trader, Evan relishes the opportunity to transfer his knowledge and expertise in finance and investing to individuals and families. Evan brings his deep experience in statistics and risk management to Cypress, enhancing the already rigorous, thoughtful financial planning services that Cypress seeks to deliver to clients.
Prior to Cypress, Evan co-founded and managed Phase Three Capital, LLC, a private investment company with a focus on low-volatility investing and absolute return strategies. At Phase Three, Evan managed all derivatives trading and general risk management. He honed these skills in his previous role as a Senior Trader for Consolidated Trading, LLC, for whom he traded equity index options on the floor of the American Stock Exchange. Evan attended Harvard College as an undergraduate, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree cum laude with a concentration in Economics; he subsequently earned his MBA at the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business. He resides in Charlottesville with his wife Meggie and daughters Eliza and Caroline.
In addition to his work at Cypress, Evan remains an avid competitive athlete. While in business school, he completed internships with the Washington Nationals and the University of Virginia athletic department. A Boston native, Evan ran the 2010 Boston Marathon while raising money for the Bay State Games charity program; it remains one of his proudest achievements.
